2008 Aprilia Sport City

Saturday, September 20th, 2008

If you haven't had a chance to see the 2008 Aprilia Sport City, this is a great scooter!  Positioned somewhere between a sport scooter and cruiser, this is one motor scooter that will certainly make a lasting impact on the scootin world.

The first thing that you will likely notice about the Aprilia Sport City is the size of the wheels.  With 15 inch wheels, this gives the Sport City the ability to drive at highway speeds in comfort and also gives it great handling.  With a 244cc engine, the Sport City can easily keep up to traffic and give you lots of power to spare all the way up to an impressive 79 mph top speed.  Suprisingly, even with all this power, the Sport City is able to achieve a respectable 61 mpg fuel economy, which is vitally important with todays fuel prices.

Beyond all the practical stuff, this is one great looking scooter!  Sporty yet elegant is the best way to describe it.  For around $4,700, the Aprilia Sport City offers a lot of value.  Of course with the recent rise in motor scooter purchases, I'm sure you will have a chance to see one of these great scooters cruising around your town or city very soon.

Dealing With High Fuel Prices

Saturday, September 6th, 2008

Sorry I haven't written in a while.  I've been busy...and lazy I guess you could say!  Went on vacation and lets just say, high fuel prices suck!  Sometimes you just can't take a scooter everywhere and you must drive a car and pay the high price for fuel.

I went on a short trip, maybe 2 hours away from my home for a week.  Guess how much I spent on fuel for the drive there, around the small town I went to and back?  $100!  Can you believe that!  I just can't get over how much money it costs for trips that once cost only $20.  It's getting out of hand.

It doesn't look like the U.S. automakers are listening to consumers so I don't think we'll see cars getting 50mpg or more coming out any time soon, at least not a lot of the.

All this high gas price talk is great for the motor scooters though.  There's no other vehicle that can offer so much for so little.  There is one downfall though - Not everyone is the U.S. or Canada can ride a motor scooter all year.  The weather, especially in the northern parts of both countries make it hard to ride all year.
