Yamaha C3 Motor Scooter

This unique little scooter has a great combination of fuel economy, functionality and versatility. The first thing you'll notice is that the C3 looks to have been built out of a box and this is somewhat true.

Yamaha C3

The seat sits on top of a box that is actually a very large storage compartment which boasts 9 gallons of cubic storage.  As for gas mileage it reportedly gets 115mpg and with a 1.2 gallon gas tank, it's not going to cost much to drive the C3.

One of the first things you'll also notice is the simplicity of it's design.  With fat rugged tires and a simple instrument cluster, the Yamaha C3 is as simple as it gets for those that just need inexpensive, basic, yet functional transportation.   With a 49cc engine it's obvious that fuel economy was in mind when Yamaha made the C3 and given todays gas prices, that's just fine with me.  If you're looking for one of these you're going to have to wait until October 2008 when they hit showrooms and retail for around $2100.

    I own a 2007 Yamaha C3 scooter that I bought new on 7may2007.
At 1400 miles I’ve had zero problems.Had my Dealer derestrict the transmission as part of the 600 mile service and she’s consistantly run out to 48mph and has averaged 110-112 mpg.I’ve added a JC Whitney (Maier) windshield, And am trying to find time to install a Stebel airhorn. (SUV Repellant!) And heavy duty (oil filled) rear shock absorber. She starts the first time, every time wheather parked in my garage, or sitting in the sun, And has to be the best money I’ve ever spent. Cheers! Gabe
